Surescripts is hiring a Senior Database Engineer to design, implement, and optimize secure, scalable databases (relational and NoSQL). You will apply data modeling, SQL development, and automation to deliver resilient data platforms that meet business needs.

The role emphasizes compliance, observability, and collaboration with agile teams. You will work in a flexible hybrid model with a focus on data integrity, performance, and disaster recovery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in a computing field.
• 5+ years building large, highly available databases.
• 3+ years with AlloyDB, Cassandra, or BigQuery/BigTable.
• 3+ years SQL programming and Database automation tooling.
• Experience in public cloud database operations.

Responsibilities

• Own datastore end-to-end: schemas, indexes, partitions, and tuning.
• Design and operate cloud-native databases for high-volume workloads.
• Manage databases using infrastructure-as-code across environments.
• Maintain automated schema management and policy-as-code practices.
• Build HA architectures with automated failover and DR capabilities.
• Research database products and standards to meet business needs.
