Job summary

J&T in Fort Meade, MD seeks a Senior Database Engineer (Level 3) to provide high-level leadership in database architecture, dataflow engineering, and enterprise storage and retrieval. You will direct database engineering across full lifecycle from requirements to IOC and lead design of relational and OO database structures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline plus at least 10 years of Database Engineering experience, or 15 years without a degree.
• Experience leading database architecture design and dataflow optimization.
• Strong capability designing relational and OO database structures and data ingestion pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Direct and lead the design, development, and deployment of relational and Object-Oriented database structures integrated into enterprise architectures.
• Oversee the development and optimization of custom database parsers, loading utilities, and data ingestion pipelines.
• Lead architectural trade-off evaluations across data volumes, concurrency, distribution, latency, retention, and security domains.
• Translate complex business and technical requirements into optimized database schemas, tables, views, and data structures.
• Oversee the authoring and maintenance of complex SQL queries, scripts, macros, and master data files.
• Direct cloud-based database storage and retrieval implementations using distributed methodologies.
• Establish and drive short- and long-term technical roadmaps for database administration and capacity planning.
