Skyward is seeking a Senior Database Developer to architect and manage a data warehouse for federal clients. You will lead data governance efforts, design a secure central data repository, and automate pipelines while ensuring rapid, reliable client interactions.

The role demands 8+ years of experience, strong SQL, AWS familiarity, and a customer-facing mindset. A Maryland-based environment is implied with competitive, transparent compensation and remote work options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience.
• Strong database architecture, development, and administration.
• Strong SQL skills with clean, fast queries.
• Experience with data governance, security and access control.
• Ability to be the client-facing lead on contracts.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility for Public Trust clearance.
• Experience supporting federal clients and AWS familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Be the human Rosetta Stone between data and insight for federal clients.
• Design a data management framework and central data repository.
• Harden data quality with validation and cleansing processes.
• Implement access controls and least privilege data access.
• Develop backup and disaster-recovery plans.
• Automate data collection, transformation, and reporting pipelines.
• Maintain a live data dictionary with naming standards.
• Serve as the primary contact for government Contracting Officer and COR.
• Oversee cross-team work and maintain contract visibility.
• Respond within 24 hours to inquiries and issues.
