Job summary

The Oregon Health Authority seeks a Database Analyst (Information Systems Specialist 7) to lead advanced database services across on‑premises and cloud environments. You will design, implement, and optimize highly available SQL Server ecosystems with strong security and backup strategies.

You will mentor teams, work with vendors, and ensure regulatory compliance, including HIPAA/JIS standards. This is a full‑time state position with a clear career path and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Six (6) years of information systems experience in enterprise database administration, including installation, configuration, monitoring, maintenance, performance tuning, backup and recovery, security, and troubleshooting of Microsoft SQL Server or comparable relational DBMS in on-premises, cloud, or hybrid environments.
• Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field; AND Four (4) Years Of Information Systems Experience In enterprise database administration, including installation, configuration, monitoring, maintenance, performance tuning, backup and recovery, security, and troubleshooting of Microsoft SQL Server or comparable relational DBMS in on-premises, cloud, or hybrid environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; AND Two (2) Years Of Information Systems Experience In enterprise database administration, including installation, configuration, monitoring, maintenance, performance tuning, backup and recovery, security, and troubleshooting of Microsoft SQL Server or comparable relational DBMS in on-premises, cloud, or hybrid environments.
• Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field may substitute for all of the above.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced technical leadership in analyzing, planning, developing and maintaining DBMS infrastructure.
• Coordinate complex IT projects and infrastructure improvements.
• Collaborate with vendors, Contracting personnel, and internal teams to ensure security, performance, and compliance.
