Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Database Specialist Solutions Architect for Healthcare and Life Sciences. You will design end-to-end database solutions, lead complex migration and modernization efforts, and guide customers through technical assessments and architecture reviews.

In this role you will translate business needs into scalable cloud database architectures, mentor other architects, and contribute to GTM content. The position targets on-site work in New York with AWS benefits.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in technology domains (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, data & analytics).
• 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures.
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in software or Internet industries.
• Experience with commercial relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server).
• Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, Redis, Couchbase, Neptune, Neo4j).

Responsibilities

• Design and architect end-to-end database solutions for HCLS customers, leading discussions on migrations and modernization strategies across relational and NoSQL databases.
• Lead migration assessments, performance optimization engagements, and architecture reviews with emphasis on scalability, reliability, and cost.
• Provide strategic technical guidance through 1:1 sessions and workshops, translating business needs into technical solutions.
• Support go-to-market efforts by creating reusable content and mentoring peers on database architectures and best practices.
• Collaborate with sales, product, and engineering to align customer requirements with product roadmaps.
• Stay current with trends in Database, Analytics, and GenAI to help customers innovate.
