Job summary

Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) is seeking a detail-oriented Database Administrator to join the USI IT team. You will design, integrate, administer, and lifecycle-manage various database technologies within our IT environment to support naval propulsion instrumentation and control systems.

You will lead implementations, patching, STIGs, and upgrades while collaborating with shipyards, Naval Reactors, BPMI, and partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years OR Master’s with 7+ years in a related field.
• Experience designing, integrating, and administering diverse database technologies.
• Familiarity with STIGs and security hardening in regulated IT environments.

Responsibilities

• Leads the implementation and integration of database infrastructure solutions, including user-facing and backend systems, and oversees all related hardware and software components.
• Supports recurring maintenance of the deployed database infrastructure, including patching, implementation of new STIGs, and other required upgrades.
• Provides technical support for issues related to the database infrastructure and system configurations.
• Leads the setup and configuration of new database architectures to support the needs of a diverse user community.
• Provides user support for application-specific customizations and other database-related solutions.
• Collaborates with key stakeholders to support the continued growth and expansion of the IT environment.
