Job summary

Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) is seeking a detail-oriented Database Administrator to join the USI IT team. You will design, integrate, administer, and manage lifecycle for various database technologies in our IT environment supporting naval propulsion systems.

The role includes leading database infrastructure projects, maintaining systems, and providing user support across multiple locations in a regulated, security-focused environment. A strong teamwork ethos is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field with 9+ years of relevant experience or Master’s degree with 7+ years of experience.
• Experience administering database environments in Windows and Linux.
• Familiarity with STIGs, security hardening, and regulated IT environments.

Responsibilities

• Leads the implementation and integration of database infrastructure solutions.
• Maintains deployed database infrastructure including patching and STIG updates.
• Provides technical support for database infrastructure issues.
• Leads setup and configuration of new database architectures for diverse user communities.
• Collaborates with shipyards, Naval Reactors, BPMI, and other partners to grow IT infrastructure.
