Syms Strategic Group (SSG) seeks a Senior Database Administrator for a remote role supporting the Veterans Affairs department. The ideal candidate will manage Oracle and SQL Server DBMS, optimize performance, and implement robust backup, recovery, and security measures.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional database administration experience, preferably with Oracle and SQL Server.
• Experience in database design, architecture, and performance tuning.
• Proficiency in backup, recovery, security management, and disaster recovery planning.
• Ability to deploy, manage, and optimize Oracle and SQL Server databases and related components.
• Strong writing and communication skills to document configurations and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and upgrade database management systems (DBMS).
• Create and manage database objects such as tables, indexes, views, and stored procedures.
• Monitor and maintain database performance, including tuning and optimization.
• Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies and run drills.
• Enforce database security policies and manage user access and permissions.
