Base pay range

$100,000.00/hr - $100,000.00/hr

We are seeking a Senior Database Administrator to architect, maintain, and optimize large-scale databases in a mission-critical logistics environment. The position involves supporting real-time data operations for a globally distributed project, ensuring high availability, security, and performance. Please note this position requires a US SECURITY CLEARANCE, is CONTINGENT UPON AWARD, and begins in MAY 2025.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage complex database architectures, including SQL and NoSQL systems, to support large-scale logistical operations
• Implement database tuning strategies for improved performance, reliability, and resource utilization
• Establish and maintain backup and recovery processes to guarantee data protection and business continuity
• Collaborate with cloud and infrastructure teams to standardize and automate database provisioning using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi
• Integrate best practices for security and compliance, including data encryption and vulnerability remediation
• Design and implement monitoring solutions to quickly detect and address issues, ensuring minimal downtime
• Optimize database deployments in multi-cloud environments (Azure, AWS, and GCP) while adhering to capacity planning and system resilience
• Work closely with development and DevOps teams to streamline data workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and version control
  
  
  

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience administering enterprise databases in critical operational settings
• 3 or more years leading complex projects focused on database performance tuning, high availability, and disaster recovery
• Proficiency with automation and DevOps approaches, including Terraform, Jenkins, Python, and GitHub
• Hands-on experience with container orchestration, microservices architecture, and event-driven solutions
• Strong understanding of networking, distributed systems, and security concepts across multi-cloud environments. Security+ CE or CCNA Security certification
• Active Secret Clearance or eligibility to obtain one
  
  
  

Preferred

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
• 3 or more years of experience in reliability engineering, including capacity planning, failure testing, and incident reduction
• Familiarity with large-scale data modeling and modernization strategies that support global logistics operations
• Track record of building and maintaining robust CI/CD workflows for database deployments
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams
• Availability beginning in May 2025
• Compensation is dependent upon qualifications, skills, and experience, and begins at $100,000
