Job summary

The City of Boston is seeking a Senior Data Processing Systems Analyst for the Assessing Department to maintain and enhance mission-critical applications, databases, and infrastructure. You will support CAMA, Abatement/Exemption Workflow, and 3ABC Online Filing applications while delivering reliable reporting and analytics to inform tax billing operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• Four years of full-time (or equivalent) professional experience in systems analysis, database administration, or related information systems role.
• Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, and SQL development.
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and provide outstanding customer support.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, support, troubleshoot, and enhance the Assessing Department's business applications, including the CAMA system, the Abatement/Exemption Workflow application, the 3ABC Online Filing Application, and any other mission-critical systems.
• Support application lifecycle activities including requirements gathering, configuration, testing, implementation, documentation, upgrades, and user training.
• Develop test plans, perform system testing, validate software enhancements, identify defects, and coordinate issue resolution prior to production deployment.
• Collaborate with software vendors, developers, database administrators, and City IT staff to implement new functionality, system integrations, and technology initiatives.
• Analyze departmental workflows and recommend technology solutions that improve efficiency, accuracy, and business processes.
• Provide advanced technical support to department staff and resolve application and system issues in a timely manner.
