Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in data warehousing, data integration, or analytics.
  • Strong experience with Medicare Advantage payer data (834, 837, HEDIS, RAF).
  • Advanced SQL skills and relational database knowledge.
  • Experience with data governance frameworks and data quality concepts.
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms (Snowflake/Redshift).
  • Working knowledge of Scrum/Agile and Jira.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • High ownership and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Lead onboarding and integration of payer feeds (834, 837, HEDIS, RAF).
  • Analyze and map data from external payer sources and internal systems into the enterprise data model.
  • Own source-to-target mappings, transformations, and standardized definitions.
  • Identify data quality issues and drive normalization within the data warehouse.
  • Validate data ingestion and transformations via profiling and reconciliation.
  • Partner with data engineering to ensure scalable, accurate ingestion pipelines.
  • Serve as SME for integrated payer and internal data for analytics and reporting.
  • Lead discovery sessions documenting technical specs and business requirements.
  • Translate clinical, operational, and business needs into data specifications.
  • Define data quality rules and monitoring frameworks for critical pipelines.
  • Develop data governance policies including metadata management and lineage.
  • Ensure integration stories are delivered on time for engineering.

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Senior Data Systems Analyst for a remote opportunity with one of our premier clients in the Healthcare industry.

The Senior Data Systems Analyst leads the integration of healthcare payer data and internal enterprise systems into Client's enterprise data platforms. This role is responsible for analyzing, mapping, validating, and standardizing complex payer data feeds—including eligibility, claims, quality, and risk adjustment data—alongside data from internal systems such as EMR, CRM, HR, and other enterprise applications.

The Senior Data Systems Analyst plays a key role in establishing and maintaining a reliable, standardized single source of truth that supports value-based care, analytics, operational reporting, and enterprise decision-making. The ideal candidate combines strong healthcare data knowledge and technical expertise with the ability to take ownership of complex payer and enterprise system integrations. This individual will independently manage multiple concurrent data initiatives, coordinate across business and technical teams, and drive data integration efforts from analysis and mapping through validation, implementation, and ongoing support.

Job Description
  • Lead onboarding and integration of various payer feeds, including eligibility (834 or flat files), medical and institutional claims (837 or flatfiles), HEDIS quality data, HIE, and risk adjustment and RAF related datasets
  • Analyze and map data from external payer sources and internal systems such as EMR, CRM, and operational platforms into the enterprise data model
  • Own and maintain source to target mappings, transformation logic, and standardized data definitions across payer and internal feeds
  • Identify payer specific variations, data quality issues, and structural differences, and drive normalization within the data warehouse
  • Validate data ingestion and transformations through profiling, reconciliation, and exception analysis
  • Partner closely with data engineering to ensure scalable, accurate, and well documented ingestion pipelines
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for integrated payer and internal data, supporting analytics, reporting, and operational use cases
  • Lead discovery sessions with customers to document technical specifications, data elements, and business requirements
  • Translate clinical, operational, and business requirements into clear data and system specifications
  • Define and implement data quality rules and monitoring frameworks for all critical data pipelines
  • Develop and enforce data governance policies, including metadata management, lineage tracking, and compliance standards.
  • Ensure integration stories are delivered on time and are fully prepared for engineering implementation
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of experience in data warehousing, data integration, or analytics roles
  • Strong experience working with Medicare Advantage payer data, including 834, 837, HEDIS, and RAF datasets
  • Advanced SQL skills and strong understanding of relational database concepts
  • Deep knowledge of enterprise data warehouse and data mart architectures
  • Experience with data governance frameworks and tools (e.g., Catalog, Atlan, Collibra, Alation) and data quality frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of cloud-based data platforms like snowflake/redshift etc.
  • Familiarity with scrum/agile methodologies and Jira
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive agile delivery
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills
  • High level of ownership, initiative, and attention to detail

Ability to travel as needed.

Work Environment

Travel may be required up to 15% locally or nationally
