Job summary

Steampunk seeks a seasoned Data Solution Architect to design enterprise data platforms, pipelines, and models. You will drive data strategy, governance, and visualization initiatives across clients, collaborating with data scientists and engineers to deliver end-to-end data products.

The role emphasizes architecture, migration, and integration across data lakes, warehouses, and BI environments, with a focus on scalable, secure, and compliant solutions in federal contracting contexts.

Qualifications

• Ability to hold a position of public trust with the US government.
• Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of total experience.
• 5+ years industry experience coding commercial software.
• 5+ years direct experience in Data Solutions with Databricks, Spark, Kafka, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL Server, Oracle, and AWS.
• Experience with data lakes, data warehouses, and data pipelines.
• Experience with DBOps, MLOps, and Agile development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Designing greenfield data solution stacks in the cloud or on premises, using the latest data services, products, technology, and industry best practices.
• Architecting migration of legacy data environments with performance and reliability
• Data Architecture contributions include assessing and understanding historical and current data sources, data models and schemas, and data workflows
• Data Engineering contributions include assessing, understanding, and designing ETL jobs, data pipelines, and workflows
• BI and Data Visualization contributions include assessing, understanding, and designing reports, selecting BI tools, creating dynamic dashboards, and setting up data pipelines in support of dashboards and reports
• Data Science contributions include assessing, understanding, and designing machine learning and AI applications, designing MLOps pipelines, and supporting data scientists
• Addressing technical inquiries concerning customization, integration, enterprise architecture and general feature / functionality of data products
• Experience in crafting data lakehouse solutions (Preferably Databricks). This includes relational databases, data warehouses, data lakes, and distributed data systems.
• Key must have skill sets – broad understanding of data exploitation lifecycle and capabilities and the ability to effectively communicate progress to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experiencing supporting each step within the Agile software development lifecycle and in gathering and executing upon technical requirements
