Job summary

Steampunk is seeking a seasoned Data Engineering Team Lead to drive enterprise data platforms, pipelines, and migrations. You will mentor a team of data engineers, defining standards and overseeing cloud-based data warehousing across AWS/Azure/GCP.

The role emphasizes communication with clients and collaboration with the AI & Data Exploitation Practice. The ideal candidate brings 10+ years in data engineering, strong SQL/NoSQL, and hands-on experience with Databricks, Purview, and modern

Qualifications

Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of total experience.
8+ years of direct experience in Data Engineering, including Hadoop/Spark/Kafka.
Proficient with SQL and NoSQL databases and data pipelines.
Experience with cloud services (AWS/Azure/GCP) and data warehousing.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and provide technical oversight for a team of data engineers.
Oversee ETL processes, workflows, BI tools, and reporting solutions.
Act as the primary technical liaison for data product customization and enterprise alignment.
Define best practices for cloud data platforms and data warehousing.
Lead design and optimization of scalable data solutions using Databricks.
Utilize Purview for data cataloging and metadata management.
Set direction, review code, and coach team members.
Foster Agile practices and coordinate sprints for data projects.
Contribute to growth of AI & Data Exploitation Practice.
