Job summary

The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City is seeking a Senior Data/Software Engineer to design and maintain scalable data pipelines and analytics across multiple business lines. You will leverage AWS, SQL expertise, and modern data stack tools to deliver trusted insights and dashboards.

Ideal candidates bring 6–15+ years of experience, strong Python/PySpark skills, and independent work capability within an Agile/DevOps environment.

Qualifications

6–15+ years of relevant experience required, depending on level.
STEM degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent.
Recent accomplishments in SQL on PostgreSQL/MySQL for data querying/manipulation.
Advanced data analytics and Tableau dashboards aligned to business needs.
Experience with AWS data workloads and cloud deployments.
Proficient with GitLab, Python, PySpark, and Jupyter notebooks.
Familiar with Databricks, Collibra, Starburst, and modern data stack tools.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes.
Analyze data to deliver trusted insights for multiple lines of business.
Develop dashboards and reports in Tableau aligned to requirements.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and follow CDP/DevOps practices.
Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to translate needs into technical solutions.
