HF Sinclair is seeking a Senior Data Security Engineer in Dallas, Texas. This role serves as the technical authority for the enterprise data security execution model, translating security intent into repeatable, enforceable controls across production environments.

You will partner with Cybersecurity Architecture, Cloud Engineering, and Data & Analytics teams to accelerate secure data handling, focusing on practical, measurable outcomes rather than theory.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in cybersecurity or security engineering with data security focus.
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, cybersecurity, or CS required.
• Proven ability to design and operationalize security controls beyond tool selection.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain data security reference architectures and control patterns across apps, APIs, analytics, and automation.
• Lead efforts to reduce existing data exposure through access path patterns and monitoring.
• Secure analytics and AI by embedding security into data pipelines and model interaction layers.
• Provide targeted cloud security support impacting data exposure and data access patterns.
• Define data-centric detection and response and align with SOC/Engineering workflows.
