GovCIO seeks a senior Data Security Analyst — Master to lead the design, implementation, and operation of enterprise security controls across data, networks, and cloud environments. The role emphasizes hands-on Palo Alto Networks expertise, Panorama, Cortex, and Strata, with strong Cisco security capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of experience in cybersecurity or related field.
• Extensive hands-on firewall administration and incident response in enterprise environments.
• Deep expertise with Palo Alto Networks NGFWs and Panorama administration.
• Strong knowledge of Cortex, Strata, and related XDR/EDR/SIEM technologies.
• Solid Cisco networking background and security integration experience.
• Familiarity with NIST and ISO security controls and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, administer, and optimize Palo Alto firewalls across data centers, campuses, and cloud environments.
• Lead centralized firewall management using Panorama, including templates and device groups.
• Design security policies with least privilege, app-ID, user-ID, and TLS decryption where allowed.
• Lead Strata capabilities for analytics, segmentation, and policy optimization.
• Deploy Cortex for security analytics, EDR/XDR, and automated response.
• Investigate alerts and incidents; coordinate containment, eradication, and recovery.
• Develop detections, dashboards, and playbooks for incident response.
• Maintain network segmentation and secure zoning across high-value assets.
• Collaborate with Cisco and security teams to strengthen defenses and integration.
• Review and document firewall changes per change-management processes.
