Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Data Security Analyst — Master to design, implement, operate, and continuously improve enterprise security controls protecting data, networks, applications, and cloud environments. This senior individual-contributor role requires hands-on expertise with Palo Alto Networks security portfolio (firewalls, Panorama, Cortex, Strata) and Cisco networking.

The position is fully remote within the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with 12+ years in cybersecurity, network security, or related fields.
• Extensive hands-on firewall administration experience in enterprise environments.
• Deep expertise with Palo Alto next‑gen firewalls, Panorama, Strata, and Cortex.
• Experience with zero trust, least privilege, and security controls.
• Strong collaboration with Cisco security technologies and cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and optimize Palo Alto firewalls across datacenter, campus, and cloud environments.
• Lead centralized firewall management using Panorama and enforce policies.
• Design and tune security policies with least privilege and threat prevention.
• Develop detections, dashboards, and runbooks using Cortex tooling.
• Collaborate with SOC, IR, Cloud, and Governance teams on remediation.
