Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Master Network & Security Engineer to lead design, deployment, and management of enterprise network security. The role focuses on Palo Alto NGFWs, Panorama, HA, Cisco switching, zero‑trust policies, and cloud integration.

You will guide incident response and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with SOC and infrastructure teams. The position is fully remote within the United States, offering a competitive salary and a path to advance cybersecurity leadership across

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
• 10+ years in network engineering or security operations.
• 6+ years with Palo Alto firewalls and Panorama in production.
• Experience with High Availability designs and failover.
• Strong TCP/IP, routing, VPN, and network‑security knowledge.
• Ability to lead complex network/security incidents and projects.
• Clearance or ability to obtain public trust.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage Palo Alto NGFW environments and Panorama.
• Develop and enforce zero‑trust, least‑privilege security policies.
• Configure NAT, VPNs, and App‑ID policies; monitor logs and performance.
• Lead segmentation, VLANs, and routing for secure enterprise networks.
• Architect HA deployments and conduct failover testing.
• Respond to incidents, perform root‑cause analyses, and drive improvements.
• Mentor engineers and document architectures and runbooks.
