Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Data Scientist to support the VA data modernization program. The role is fully remote within the United States and focuses on building data products, migrating workloads to the cloud, and advancing AI adoption for meaningful business outcomes.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in Python, SQL, cloud platforms (Databricks/Azure/AWS/GCP), and end-to-end data science workflows with ML tooling, including experience with LLMs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business or related field.
• Proficient in Python and advanced SQL for data analysis.
• 2+ years on leading cloud platforms such as Databricks, Azure, AWS, and GCP.
• Experience in end-to-end data science workflow and ML tooling.
• Knowledge of ML toolboxes and LLMs with AI workflow.

Responsibilities

• Consult with internal clients and build data products/workflows.
• Migrate workloads to the cloud to realize improvements.
• Spearhead AI adoption to drive business outcomes.
• Create reference use cases with tutorials, code and training.
• Host office hours to upskill clients.
• Develop, train, and deploy machine learning solutions.
