Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Senior Cloud Data Engineer to support the VA Data Modernization initiative. The role requires expertise in cloud tools, Databricks, VHA Data Lake integrations, and automated workspace provisioning.

The position is fully remote within the United States, working with cross-functional teams to design, provision, and automate cloud-based data workspaces. The ideal candidate will lead migrations, develop documentation, and ensure compliant, efficient workspace operations with

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience in IT/Engineering or related field.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Create cloud workspaces with commonly used tools to enable rapid onboarding.
Lead migration from on-premises to cloud-based solutions.
Automate provisioning for user intake, workspace creation, and core data access.
Lead teams of data platform engineers, security teams, and analytics stakeholders for compliant workspace operations.
Document processes, SOPs, access models, and configurations for transparency and repeatability.
Provide white-glove support to new and existing users, ensuring high adoption and satisfaction.
