Job summary

BlueFlag LLC is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to turn business problems into production ML solutions on Databricks in Azure. You will work directly with internal clients to frame problems, build data products, and deploy models with CI/CD pipelines.

The role is hands-on, requiring experience taking models from notebook to production and maintaining operations at scale, with a focus on governance, performance, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Python (pandas, NumPy, SciPy, scikit-learn) and advanced SQL.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience on a leading cloud data platform (Databricks/Azure/AWS/GCP).
• Experience across end-to-end data science workflow, including experiment tracking and model management with MLflow.
• Strong grounding in traditional ML methods (supervised/unsupervised, gradient boosted trees).
• Experience with Spark/PySpark and large datasets in distributed environments.
• Ability to explain technical work to non-technical stakeholders and drive adoption.
• US citizen with ability to obtain public trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Consult with internal clients to frame business problems as ML problems and define success metrics.
• Build data products and workflows from data discovery to production deployment.
• Migrate workloads from legacy environments to Python and Databricks with measurable gains.
• Develop, train, and validate ML models for complex business problems.
• Engineer features and reusable feature pipelines on large datasets with PySpark/SQL.
• Track experiments and manage model versions and promotion through MLflow.
• Deploy models for batch scoring and real-time serving, and automate retraining.
