Job summary

PODS is building analytical infrastructure to understand customer behavior, price elasticity, and daily pricing decisions for moving services. As a Data Scientist 3, you are a senior contributor on the Revenue Science team, owning models end to end—from design to production—and mentoring others.

You will work with elasticity, demand, forecasting models and optimization, aiming to inform pricing decisions worth millions. Strong Python, SQL, and cloud data stack experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in a quantitative field or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years building and deploying models end to end as a senior individual contributor.
• Owns pipeline, model, deployment and stakeholder relationship.
• Experience delivering production-grade pricing/analytics in domains like logistics.

Responsibilities

• Own models end to end from design through production.
• Build, deploy, and monitor core models: elasticity, demand, forecasting.
• Formulate optimization problems for pricing and capacity with LP/QP/MIP.
• Establish model monitoring and drift detection; recompute when needed.
• Define experiments design and analysis across the team.
• Identify strategies like difference-in-differences for non-randomized settings.
• Design production-grade data pipelines without mature infra.
• Scale with PySpark/Databricks and optimize SQL on large tables.
• Create reusable assets: feature tables and model libraries.
• Present recommendations to senior leadership and quantify impact.
• Mentor junior data scientists and review high-stakes analyses.
