Job summary

Raya is hiring a Senior Data Scientist for Places in the United States. This remote-friendly role focuses on building data products, experimentation, and metrics that drive retention and product decisions across Places and Raya’s ecosystem.

You will own success metrics, collaborate with data engineering, and translate insights into actionable roadmaps, leveraging SQL, Python, and AI tools to scale decision support and experimentation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data science and product analytics experience.
• BS or MS in statistics, OR/OR, CS, engineering, applied math, physics or economics.
• Strong collaboration with data and product engineering teams.
• Fluency in SQL and Python to answer business questions.
• Applied statistics including hypothesis testing and causal inference.
• Experience with analytics tools and experimentation workflows.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to explain stats to non-experts.
• Curiosity about how AI tools improve analytics and decision support.
• Bonus for familiarity with performance marketing optimization.

Responsibilities

• Own the definition and evolution of success metrics for user surfaces.
• Define and maintain business metrics, semantic layers, and data models.
• Translate product requirements into scalable data assets with Data Engineering.
• Influence product direction by translating insights into roadmaps.
• Build a culture of high fidelity experimentation to scale wins.
• Use visualisations to convey nuance with clarity.
• Leverage AI-native approaches and LLMs to automate analysis and experimentation workflows.
