Capital One Personal Loan Data is at the center of everything we do. As a Data Scientist at Capital One, you’ll be part of a team that uses Python, Spark, and AWS to build models and drive decision-making across billions of customer records.

The Personal Loan Acquisition modeling team develops ML models for acquisition, underwriting, pricing, and verification, collaborating with data scientists, engineers, and product managers to deliver impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field plus 2 years data analytics experience or Master's/MBA with quantitative concentration.
• Master's in STEM or PhD in STEM is preferred.
• Experience with AWS is preferred.
• 2+ years experience with Python/Scala/R and ML modeling is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with cross-functional team of data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to deliver a product customers love.
• Leverage Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, Spark, and more to reveal insights in large numeric and textual data.
• Build machine learning models through all phases: design, training, evaluation, validation, and deployment.
• Translate the complexity of work into tangible business goals.
