Job summary

The Nielsen Company is seeking a data science professional to design and deliver custom analytics by integrating Nielsen datasets across TV, streaming, audio, and digital. You will build production-grade models and scalable pipelines using Python, SQL, PySpark, and Databricks.

Expect to advance AI-enabled methodologies, collaborate with Research and Commercial teams, and translate complex requirements into well-documented analytic solutions that inform client decisions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years directly with Nielsen datasets and understanding of weighting, projection, and audience estimation.
• Experience merging multiple data sources with differing sample designs and reporting conventions.
• Strong grounding in US media research across TV, streaming, and digital.
• Advanced degree in a quantitative field required; 5+ years in data science or analytical roles preferred.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL; experience with PySpark, Databricks, and Airflow is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design and build measurement products by combining Nielsen datasets across TV, streaming, audio, and digital.
• Develop statistical and ML models to extend Nielsen methodologies for complex questions.
• Write production-grade SQL, Python, and PySpark to extract, transform, and model data.
• Build reusable data pipelines and ETL workflows for repeatable delivery.
• Use AI tools to validate models, accelerate development, and compress delivery time.
• Translate stakeholder requests into well-scoped analytical problems with clear docs.
