Job summary

Etsy, Inc. seeks a Senior Data Scientist, Marketing to own the MMM process, automate pipelines, and build tools that drive marketing decisions. You will prototype and implement MMM models, collaborate with marketing and analytics teams, and communicate insights to leadership.

POSITION: Senior Data Scientist, Marketing

DESCRIPTION: Serve as a key member of the analytics team and own the marketing mix model process—including testing and implementation—which is a critical measurement source for Etsy’s marketing teams. Automate complex data pipelines, develop and refine models, and build proprietary tools and techniques to advance Etsy’s marketing mix modeling practice. Build a model that will demystify marketing with insights grounded in data, telling the story of how Etsy attracts and retains users to teams, to senior management, and to the community. Apply the latest advances in analytics to our marketing mix modeling (MMM) workstream, including data management, modeling, and report automation. Prototype, optimize, and implement marketing mix models to guide our marketing team’s testing priorities and investment decision making. Work ross functionally with marketing teams and communicate ideas and model capabilities to analytics and marketing stakeholders. Continually evaluate and refine technical toolkit, sharing what is learned with the team. Work closely with analytics and marketing leaders to improve the quality and depth of our marketing measurement processes. Remote position.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or related technical field and 4 years of experience in the position offered or in a related role. Requires 3 years of experience in/with: Developing a marketing mix model; SQL; R and/or Python. Requires 1 year of experience in/with: Existing open source MMM packages (such as Robyn, Meridian, PyMC, etc.); and Looker, Looker Studio or other data visualization software. Remote position.

HOURS: Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week

LOCATION: Brooklyn, New York (Remote Position)

SALARY: $171,700 - $192,000 per year
