Job summary

Amazon seeks a Senior Data Scientist for the OTS ANCHOR team to own end-to-end data science for IT operations, forecasting service demand, and intelligent severity triaging. You will build data-driven models and analytics backbones powering proactive incident resolution at scale.

Responsibilities include designing ML models, validating experiments, and guiding cross-functional collaborations with engineering and product teams. Strong communication and mentoring are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data querying languages and scripting experience.
• 4+ years of data scientist experience in production settings.
• Experience with statistical models and forecasting.
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field; Master’s preferred.
• Experience deploying ML models and building data pipelines.
• 2+ years of data visualization with AWS tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy ML models for IT operations forecasting.
• Build severity classification and triaging models for thousands of tickets.
• Develop anomaly detection systems to spot patterns in operational data.
• Create frameworks to measure impact of interventions and allocate resources.
• Collaborate with engineering to productionize ML via AWS pipelines.
• Communicate findings to senior leaders through docs and presentations.
• Mentor junior team members in rigorous scientific approach.
