Job summary

McKinsey & Company in Newark, NJ is seeking a senior analytics leader to drive internal data science and client-facing work across pricing, promotions and assortment within Periscope by McKinsey. You will shape analytics approaches, oversee modeling, forecasting and optimisation, and coach teams to adopt best practices while collaborating with retail and CPG solutions teams.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in applied math, economics, statistics or another quantitative science.
• 5+ years of experience in consulting and/or development, retail pricing or promotional management with practical data‑analysis experience.
• Experience with advanced analytics techniques to model, forecast and optimise decisions; econometric modelling, machine‑learning techniques such as XGBoost and decision trees, and use of a solver for optimisation.
• Experience developing analytical solutions for internal or external use.
• Advanced knowledge of statistical packages and comfort working with teams heavily using Python and R.
• Experience collaborating with a team of statistical analysts.
• Highly proficient at problem‑solving challenging business issues with clients and McKinsey consultants.
• Ability to juggle overlapping, frequent challenging commitments and reprioritise as necessary to meet evolving business objectives.
• Ability to critically evaluate and communicate business issues/risks with conviction to clients and partners.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills that can be employed when partnering with clients and other partners to build relationships and achieve goals.

Responsibilities

• Drive internal data science and product development teams, and client-facing roles across innovation topics.
• Define analytics use cases and align with stakeholders on prioritization.
• Oversee roadmap for analytical code innovation, feature enhancements, and AI/ML approaches and automate Analytics at scale.
• Lead architectural decisions related to Analytics from modelling to forecasting to optimisation.
• Engage directly with clients and consulting teams to shape analytics approaches and recommendations.
• Collaborate with Periscope Retail and CPG solutions teams to drive analytical innovation and scale ideas.
