County of Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to lead data-driven efforts addressing homelessness. You will manage complex analytics projects from concept through production, partnering with internal and external stakeholders to deliver actionable insights and policy-supporting recommendations.

The role includes guiding a small data science team, coordinating data sources, and communicating results to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define complex data science projects from conception to implementation.
• Provide technical oversight to small teams of Data Scientists and Predictive Analysts.
• Lead discovery to document business requirements and frame problems for suitable data science techniques.
• Identify and integrate diverse data sources (internal/external/structured/unstructured).
• Support data collection, integration, and retention with IT for large data sets.
• Review and document data science tools, methods, and model performance.
• Communicate findings orally, in writing, and via interactive tools to diverse audiences.
• Assist in implementing data-driven program changes while maintaining fidelity to best practices.
