Job summary

Pinterest is seeking a Senior Data Scientist for the Growth Marketing team in the US. You will drive measurement and optimization to grow user growth and marketing impact, partnering across Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Analytics.

Your work will guide strategic investments and define key metrics to scale Pinterest’s user base. You will build robust models (propensity, forecasting, LTV), improve experimentation capabilities, and translate results into actionable guidance for leadership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of combined post-graduate academic and industry experience applying scientific methods to marketing problems.
• Master's degree in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, computer science or engineering.
• Hands-on experience with marketing measurement solutions to quantify the business impact of tactics and investments.
• Strong background in statistics and quantitative analysis with real-world problem solving.
• Proficiency in Python or R and strong SQL/Hive skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct deep strategic analysis to answer growth marketing ecosystem questions (MAU from paid channels, new markets, engagement, LTV).
• Evolve geo-testing and incrementality testing frameworks.
• Build and deploy statistical and ML models (propensity, forecasting, LTV) to optimize marketing strategies.
• Develop new models and maintain existing ones (LTV, budgeting, retention).
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners (Product, Engineering, Analytics, Marketing).
• Translate complex findings into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Design, maintain dashboards and automated reporting; build ETL pipelines for analyses and feature engineering.
