Pinterest is seeking a senior data scientist to join the Notifications team, shaping data-driven decisions across the user journey and improving ML-powered notifications. You will develop measurement frameworks, write actionable analyses, and clearly communicate recommendations to product and engineering leadership.

You will partner with product, ML, and engineering leaders to prioritize work, mentor teammates, and drive impactful improvements in the notifications experience at web scale.

Qualifications

• 8+ years applying scientific methods to web-scale data.
• Strong background in statistics, ML, and experimentation.
• Proficiency in Python or R scripting.
• SQL/Hive proficiency for data extraction and analysis.
• Ability to translate vague questions into well-defined analyses and metrics.

Responsibilities

• Develop measurement frameworks and metrics to drive data-driven decision making across the full user journey.
• Partner with product, engineering, and ML leadership to prioritize projects and inform the notifications experience.
• Improve ML models powering notifications delivery and content through new features and analyses.
• Mentor other data scientists, ensuring high-quality outputs and knowledge transfer.
