Job summary

Exelon Corporation seeks a data scientist to apply machine learning and statistical modeling to large, multi-terabyte data sets in the energy sector. You will collaborate with data engineers, business partners, and IT to extract actionable insights and inform decision making.

The role involves building predictive models, leveraging open source tools, and communicating findings to executives. A strong foundation in Python/R/Scala and experience with Spark/Hadoop are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline.
• 4-7 years of relevant experience developing hypotheses, applying machine learning algorithms, validating results to analyze multi-terabyte datasets and extracting actionable insights.
• Analytical abilities in machine learning, AI, statistical modeling, data mining, information retrieval, or data visualization.
• Proven experience developing and deploying predictive analytics projects using Python, R, Scala; experience in open source environments and Unix-based OS.

Responsibilities

• Develop predictive models that improve customer experience, operating performance, and safety practices.
• Analyze data using advanced analytics techniques with Python, R, Scala and big data frameworks.
• Access and analyze data from company systems; support strategic business, marketing, and program implementation plans.
• Access and enrich data warehouses across departments; build and maintain high-performance computing systems.
• Provide analytics support to multiple business units.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into data science projects across Exelon.
