We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to support advanced analytics and machine learning initiatives that improve operational performance, customer experience, and safety across a large-scale utility environment. This role blends hands‑on modeling, large‑scale data analysis, and strategic advisory work with business stakeholders.

Role Overview
The Senior Data Scientist will develop predictive models and advanced analytical solutions that drive business and operational improvements. This individual will partner closely with business leaders, engineers, and technology teams to translate data‑driven insights into actionable strategies.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical depth with the ability to communicate findings clearly to non‑technical audiences and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop predictive models that enhance customer experience, operational efficiency, and safety performance
- Design data sampling strategies, data collection methods, and data cleansing approaches
- Analyze large, complex datasets using modern analytics frameworks and tools
- Access and integrate data from multiple enterprise systems of record
- Support the development of strategic business, marketing, and operational initiatives through data‑driven insights
- Enrich and maintain data warehouse environments and support high‑performance computing needs
- Partner with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to translate business problems into data science solutions
- Present analytical findings and recommendations to business leaders and executives
- Collaborate with cross‑functional analytics teams to improve tools, techniques, and analytical capabilities
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Operations Research, or a related discipline
- 4–7 years of experience applying machine learning and advanced analytics to large datasets
- Strong programming skills in one or more languages such as Python, R, or Scala
- Advanced SQL skills and experience working with large, columnar, or distributed data platforms
- Experience working in Unix or Linux‑based environments
- Hands‑on experience developing and deploying predictive analytics solutions
- Strong understanding of machine learning, statistical modeling, probability, and optimization
- Ability to translate technical analysis into clear business insights and recommendations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with smart meter, billing, outage management, or other utility/energy datasets
- Exposure to the full data science lifecycle, including data acquisition, processing, modeling, and communication
- Experience with big data technologies such as Spark and Hadoop
- Background in utilities, energy, or other large‑scale operational industries
