Job summary

Exelon Corporation is seeking an experienced Data Engineer in Illinois to design, build, test, and maintain data solutions and processes. You will coordinate tasks within the team and collaborate with business and IT partners to ensure quality data products.

The role requires 4–7 years in data warehousing, BI reporting, and ETL/ELT, plus knowledge of Big Data technologies and scripting tools such as PowerShell or Ansible. A strong SDLC background and data standards experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline and 4-7 years' relevant experience in data warehouse design, BI reporting and ETL/ELT processing or 6-9 equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of Big Data technology and its impact on the systems infrastructure of the company.
• Experience implementing enterprise-wide data standards, including business definitions and naming standards.
• Experience participating in interviews of users as part of a systems development team to gather information for analysis or technical work.
• Ability to use PowerShell, Ansible, or another scripting tool to automate tasks/create reports and troubleshoot issues with existing scripts.
• Strong understanding of how the System Development Life Cycle phase fits into the overall development lifecycle.
• Demonstrates a high proficiency for disseminating information to users, management, customers and others with limited knowledge of the subject.
• Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the effective use of a variety of tools in complex applications.
• Solid understanding of the capabilities of standard monitoring tools.
