Roblox is hiring for a senior Data Scientist to drive the safety and moderation inference framework on a global platform. The role emphasizes building robust measurement systems, ground truth datasets, and causal analyses to guide product and policy decisions across engineering and legal functions.

You will partner with ML and Data Engineering teams to ensure detection models are built on solid ground truth and scalable measurement pipelines, with equity compensation and broad benefits described

Qualifikationen

• 10+ years of industry experience in data science, economics, analytics, or machine learning engineering.
• 7+ years using scripting languages (Python, R), and big data query/processing languages and tools such as SQL, Hive, Spark, and Airflow.
• Knowledge of ML and Deep Learning either via formal training or industry experience.
• Ability to apply creative first-principles reasoning to solve ambiguous problems.
• Experience developing large-scale safety or moderation systems as well as experience with content platforms, specifically user-generated content.
• Advanced Degree and/or PhD in Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, Applied Math, Economics or other related quantitative fields

Aufgaben

• Establish and monitor robust prevalence measurement methodologies to quantify harmful content and behavior on the platform.
• Develop and validate ground truth datasets for harmful UGC and violative behaviors.
• Explore threat landscapes and provide data-backed recommendations for resource allocation.
• Design and analyze experiments for moderation and safety features; communicate results to Product and Eng teams.
• Use causal inference to measure effectiveness and systemic impact of safety initiatives.
• Translate statistical findings into actionable strategies for Product, Engineering, Policy and Legal.
• Collaborate with ML/Data Engineering to ensure ground truth and measurement frameworks are sound.
