Job summary

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey seeks a Senior Data Scientist for the Aviation Department to develop data-driven tools, expand ADAW analytics, and lead dashboards and models across airports. You will collaborate with GIS, planning, and operations to enable data-informed decisions.

Responsibilities include building Power BI dashboards, predictive modeling, data integration, and governance, with hybrid work options (remote up to one day/week) and a commitment to accessible analytics

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field.
• 3+ years in analytics roles supporting data systems or analytics workflows (Azure preferred).
• 2+ years in large organizations or public service environments.
• Strong Python and SQL for analytical workflows and cloud datasets.
• Experience with PySpark or distributed processing (Databricks or Synapse).
• Experience building dashboards and analytical solutions for cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards for multiple stakeholders.
• Lead predictive and diagnostic modeling and real-time analytics.
• Document data structures, logic, and processing steps for sustainability.
• Build Python-based analytics tools, KPI reporting engines, and data-entry workflows.
• Coordinate GIS integration with agency-wide teams to leverage spatial assets.
• Pilot advanced analytics, align with program management for production readiness.
• Collaborate with business units to gather requirements and ensure governance.
