Job summary

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is seeking a Senior Data Scientist for the Aviation Department to advance data-driven insights across airports. The role focuses on predictive modeling, operational dashboards in Power BI, GIS-enabled analytics, and data integrations within ADAW to support decision-making for across-airport operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field or related discipline.
• 3+ years in analytics, data systems, or data science in enterprise environments.
• 2+ years collaborating with large organizations or civic tech entities.
• Strong Python and SQL; experience building analytics workflows.
• Experience with PySpark or distributed processing in Databricks or Synapse.
• Designing dashboards and analytical solutions for cross-functional teams.
• Ability to multitask and communicate effectively with technical and nontechnical partners.

Responsibilities

• Operational Dashboards, Reporting & Predictive Modeling (50% of portfolio).
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards for multiple teams and partners.
• Create predictive models, real-time dashboards, and forecasting tools.
• Document data structures, logic, and processing steps for sustainability.
• Product Development & Technical Solutioning (20%): Python tools, KPI engines, dashboards, and workflows.
• Lead GIS integration and coordinate with agency-wide teams on spatial assets.
• Data Integration, Access Management & Workflow Development (15%): support data streams and governance.
