Job summary

SAP SE in Palo Alto is seeking a Senior Data and Applied Scientist to build the semantic foundation for SAP's AI agents and autonomous SCM capabilities. You will design ontologies, ground AI models with enterprise data, and collaborate across product and engineering to deliver production-ready AI solutions.

You'll apply RAG, embeddings, and knowledge grounding across Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, and other processes, partnering with Databricks, SAP Datasphere, and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in knowledge engineering, semantic data systems, applied AI, or data science.
• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on design of enterprise ontologies and semantic models; graph query languages; RDF vs property graphs.
• Experience with GenAI systems including RAG, embeddings, and vector databases.
• Strong Python and SQL with ML libraries (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn).
• Proven production deployment of AI/ML solutions; lifecycle support and improvement.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain enterprise ontologies and semantic models for AI agents.
• Build AI capabilities including RAG pipelines, embeddings, and vector databases.
• Develop AI solutions using enterprise data, knowledge graphs, and SB platforms.
• Collaborate across product, engineering, and customer-facing teams to deploy AI solutions.
• Apply ML and deep learning to real-world enterprise datasets.
• Work with cloud platforms to support scalable AI workflows.
