Job summary

SAP SE in Bellevue is seeking a Principal Data and Applied Scientist to lead the semantic foundation for SAP's AI agents across supply-chain domains. You will design ontologies, build semantic models, and ground AI using enterprise master data, process contexts, and knowledge graphs.

You'll work with Databricks, SAP Datasphere, and cloud platforms to enable scalable AI workflows, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deploy and improve AI solutions in production.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Hands-on experience designing enterprise ontologies and semantic models; proficiency in SPARQL, Cypher, or GQL.
• Experience with GenAI, RAG, embeddings, vector databases, and semantic grounding.
• Strong Python and SQL skills with production-grade development practices; ML libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn.
• Proven track record deploying AI/ML solutions in production with lifecycle support.
• Experience with big data infrastructure and cloud environments Databricks, plus AWS/Azure/GCP.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain enterprise ontologies and semantic models for AI agents.
• Build AI capabilities including RAG pipelines, embeddings, and vector databases.
• Develop AI solutions using enterprise data, knowledge graphs, and structured/unstructured data.
• Leverage cloud platforms to support scalable AI workflows.
• Collaborate across product, engineering, business, and customer teams from concept to deployment.
• Apply ML/DL and statistical modeling to real-world enterprise datasets.
