Job summary

SAP is seeking a Senior Data and Applied Scientist to build the context engine that grounds AI agents in SAP’s enterprise data. You will design ontologies, enable semantic models, and deploy AI solutions across core business processes using Databricks and SAP data platforms.

You will collaborate across product, engineering, and business teams to translate complex challenges into practical AI implementations, with a focus on reliability and enterprise-scale deployment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in knowledge engineering, semantic data systems, applied AI, or data science.
• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field
• Hands-on experience designing enterprise ontologies and semantic models; proficiency in graph query languages (SPARQL/Cypher/GQL); understanding RDF vs property graphs.
• Hands-on experience with GenAI systems (RAG, embeddings, vector databases, semantic retrieval).
• Strong Python and SQL skills with experience in ML libraries (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn).
• Experience deploying AI/ML solutions in production with lifecycle support and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain enterprise ontologies and semantic models for AI agents.
• Build AI capabilities including RAG pipelines, embeddings, and vector databases.
• Develop generative AI and LLM-based solutions using enterprise data and knowledge graphs.
• Ground AI solutions in SAP data models and business process semantics across core processes.
• Work with cloud platforms (Databricks, SAP Datasphere, SAP HANA Cloud, AWS, Azure, GCP) for scalable workflows.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams from concept to deployment and improvement.
