Job summary

Render seeks a Senior/Staff Data Scientist to join the Data team as a strategic analytics partner across product, growth, and finance. You’ll translate ambiguous questions into rigorous analysis and set success metrics that guide product and business decisions.

You’ll collaborate with leaders to define KPIs, build measurement frameworks, and shape analytics practices using dbt, BigQuery, Metabase, Mixpanel, Segment, and Git to drive data-driven growth.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of analytics experience shaping strategy
• Strong business and product judgment in ambiguous spaces
• Experience defining metrics across product, growth, finance or similar
• Proficient in SQL and large dataset exploration
• Expertise with experimentation and statistical methods
• Familiarity with modern analytics tooling (Metabase, Mixpanel, dbt, BigQuery, Segment, Git)
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams and leaders
• Excellent communication and storytelling with data

Responsibilities

• Serve as a strategic analytics partner across Product, Growth, GTM, Finance and more.
• Define KPIs and measurement frameworks for acquisition, activation, retention and revenue.
• Turn data into strategy by surfacing patterns and prioritizing opportunities.
• Design and analyze experiments; establish guardrail metrics for evaluation.
• Integrate measurement early with product development and instrumentation.
• Build trusted analytical foundations with dbt models and data layers.
• Mentor teams on measurement, experimentation and data literacy.
• Explore AI-assisted tools to accelerate analysis while preserving accuracy.
