Job summary

Fetch is seeking a Staff Data Scientist to lead analytical and scientific efforts for Play and Rewarded Apps, partnering with Product, Marketing, Engineering, and leadership to shape data-driven decisions.

This is a strategic, hands-on role with mentoring duties. You will set direction, translate questions into analyses, build predictive models, and advance experimentation using Python and SQL.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of data science, analytics, or quantitative strategy with ownership of complex domains.
• Advanced Python and SQL skills; experience building reusable analytics workflows.
• Experience developing, evaluating, and operationalizing ML models and translating outputs into decisions.
• Strong foundation in statistics, experimental design, power analysis, metrics, segmentation, and causal inference.
• Experience applying causal inference techniques (DiD, matching, synthetic controls).
• Models related to personalization, propensity, recommendations, forecasting, retention, or LTV.

Responsibilities

• Set analytical and scientific strategy for Play, identifying high-impact opportunities across revenue, engagement, and marketplace outcomes.
• Partner with product, marketing, and engineering leaders to define questions analytics should answer.
• Translate ambiguous challenges into structured analytical approaches with clear trade-offs and impact.
• Develop ML models and scoring frameworks to inform product and business strategy.
• Shape experimentation and measurement through A/B testing, causal inference, and observational analyses.
• Mentor analysts and data scientists; establish best practices for modeling, documentation, and data storytelling.
