Job summary

Kalman & Company, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled data scientist to support Department of Warfare clients. You will perform data analysis, modeling, and deliver data-driven insights, with occasional onsite work in Arlington, VA.

You will collaborate with engineers, logisticians, and financial managers to collect, analyze, and present information, build dashboards, and develop predictive analyses using ML/AI, Power BI, Python, and SQL. A strong data background and security clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Active Secret Security Clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, physical science, engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of experience as a data scientist and 5+ years supporting DoW solutions.
• Excellent data gathering and analytical skills.
• Experience with Power BI, Power Query, Power Automate, Power Apps, MS Excel, Python, and SQL.
• Experience using Python or R packages (e.g., scikit-learn, pandas) to develop predictive models.

Responsibilities

• Develop solutions in a highly collaborative and agile environment.
• Drive research and development in ML/AI, exploring advanced data science methods.
• Develop solutions for metadata/rules engine-driven analytics using open source or cloud components.
• Lead efforts in collecting, normalizing, and analyzing complex data.
• Work with stakeholders to translate needs into reports and dashboards.
• Identify opportunities to streamline reporting and automate processes.
• Develop and manage business intelligence solutions.
• Build and use data visualizations to deliver insights from multiple sources.
• Document data profiling, quality assurance results, and data dictionaries.
• Use data to create predictive models and trend analyses.
• Collaborate with colleagues to collect and structure data.
• Interpret data and present ongoing reports to meet client needs.
• Communicate results to diverse organizations and leadership.
