Job summary

The Home Depot is seeking a Senior Data Scientist within BlackLocus to drive competitive intelligence, pricing, and assortment using large-scale data analyses and AI techniques. You will design models, mentor team members, and establish scalable processes while advancing ML and generative AI initiatives.

Located in Austin, TX, you will collaborate across business and technical teams to deliver actionable insights for a Fortune 25 company. Occasional travel is expected.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master in a quantitative field (Statistics, OR, Economics, CS) required.
• Extensive experience with Python and SQL.
• Outstanding skills in data cleaning, data analysis, predictive analytics, causal inference, and machine learning.
• Experience designing, testing, deploying, and scaling advanced AI systems (generative AI, agent-based solutions).
• Strong software engineering skills for production-grade systems and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop algorithms and models to derive insights from large datasets.
• Provide direction on prioritization of work and develop the competencies of direct reports.
• Establish scalable, efficient processes for large-scale data analyses, model development and deployment.
• Solve problems creatively with data-driven insights to optimize price points and assortment.
• Stay current on advancements in data science and ML and identify opportunities to apply them.
