The Home Depot is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to help build a data-driven center of excellence for competitive intelligence and pricing. You will design algorithms, scale data analyses, and deploy ML solutions that influence pricing, assortment, and BI decisions for a Fortune 25 company.

The role requires advanced analytics skills, strong Python/SQL, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Travel is limited and the environment is fast-paced and data-driven.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field; 7+ years work experience.
• 7+ years of data science experience with data analysis, ML, and pricing/AI.
• Strong Python and SQL; experience with data cleaning, predictive analytics, and causal inference.

Key Responsibilities:

• 25% Design and develop algorithms and models to use against large datasets to create business insights.
• 25% Provide direction on prioritization of work, ensure quality of work outputs, and develop the competencies of direct reports.
• 20% Establishing scalable, efficient processes for large scale data analyses, model development and model implementation
• 20% Solve problems creatively with strategic insights. Leverage data to present a compelling business case to optimize price points.
• 10% Remain knowledgeable on advancements in data science and machine learning. Identify opportunities to apply learnings.

Direct Manager/Direct Reports:

• Position reports to Sr. Manager, Data Science

Travel Requirements:

• Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Physical Requirements:

• Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Working Conditions:

• Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be eighteen years of age or older.

• ExtensiveexperiencewithPython and SQL
• Outstanding skillsindata cleaning, data analysis,predictive analytics, causal inference,andmachine learning
• Experience designing, testing,deploying,andscalingadvanced AI systems:
• Developing generative AI and agent-based solutions
• Leveraging cloud AI platforms, embedding techniques, and multimodal models
• Applying prompt optimization and statistical analysis to drive system performance
• Strong software engineering skills, including development of scalable, maintainable, production-grade systems
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts intoeasily interpretable materialfor business stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to build strong cross-functional partnerships and collaborate effectively across technical and business teams
