Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Sr. Data Scientist within the Core R&D group to lead optimization, AI, and advanced analytics initiatives across global Flexibles R&D. You will develop models, support data pipelines, and drive cost reductions and manufacturing efficiency.

Ideal candidates have strong backgrounds in data science, optimization, and ML, with collaboration across R&D, Operations, Finance, and IT to deliver scalable analytics solutions.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Data Science, Operations Research, Engineering, Applied Math, or related field.
• 5+ years (3+ with PhD) of industry experience in analytics, data science, and/or technical engineering.
• Proven success delivering analytics, AI/ML models, and cross-functional projects.
• Strong Python and SQL skills; experience building data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead optimization and AI initiatives to reduce material costs and improve processes.
• Develop analytics tools and predictive models for R&D design and development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align analytics with enterprise data standards.
• Ensure robust data pipelines and responsible use of confidential R&D data.
