Job summary

Gilbane Building is seeking a Data Scientist to join the centralized Data Science Team responsible for data analysis, AI and ML use case development. The role involves translating business questions into analytic solutions and presenting findings to business leaders with minimal supervision from the Analytics Team.

You will interact with executives, develop predictive models, and collaborate on data pipelines using SQL, Python, R, Excel and MicroStrategy.

Qualifications

• Masters Degree in Statistics, Applied Math, Industrial or Research Psychology, Biostatistics, Computer Science/Information Systems or related field
• 5+ years practical experience with data processing, programming and analytics
• 3+ years practical experience building statistical or machine learning models and communicating results to business leaders.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

• Answer business questions end-to-end by translating questions into analytic solutions using advanced techniques (statistics, ML); present findings to business leaders
• Develop and apply predictive models and ML solutions; coordinate with stakeholders
• Interact with non-technical stakeholders to explain analyses and deliverables
• Execute data science strategy using inferential or predictive models
• Conduct needs analyses with business partners in a consultant capacity
• Collaborate with technology partners on data mining and collection using SQL, R, Python, Excel, MicroStrategy
• Prepare and deliver analyses and visualizations matching customer needs
• Learn and apply new data science techniques to solve expanding business problems
• Experience with analytics consulting and delivering to Executives/CSU stakeholders
