Job summary

Gilbane Building is seeking a Data Scientist to join the centralized Data Science Team responsible for data analysis, AI and ML use case development. You will translate business questions into analytics projects, develop predictive models, and present findings to executives with minimal supervision.

The role requires data mining with SQL, Python, R, Excel, and BI tools; building statistical or ML models and delivering end-to-end analyses for strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in Statistics, Applied Math, Industrial or Research Psychology, Biostatistics, CS/IS or related field.
• 5+ years practical experience with data processing, programming and analytics.
• 3+ years practical experience building statistical or machine learning models and communicating results to business leaders.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Answer business questions end to end by translating questions into analytics with statistics and machine learning.
• Interact with non-technical stakeholders to deliver analyses and findings.
• Coordinate with business partners in a consultant capacity for needs analysis and data collection.
• Develop data pipelines and automate processes; deliver data visualizations for customers.
• Learn and apply new data science techniques to solve business problems.
