Job summary

Gilbane Building is seeking a Data Scientist to join the centralized Data Science Team responsible for data analysis, AI and ML use case development. You will translate business questions into end-to-end analyses, present findings to executives, and collaborate with partners to build data pipelines and deployment solutions.

The role requires strong statistical background, 5+ years in data analytics, and experience communicating results to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in Statistics, Applied Math, Industrial or related field.
• 5+ years practical experience with data processing, programming and analytics.
• 3+ years practical experience building statistical or machine learning models and communicating results to business leaders.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

• Translate business questions into end-to-end analytics using statistics and ML; create and present findings to business leaders.
• Deep understanding of statistics, scientific research methodology, predictive models, and ML; select and implement appropriate approach.
• Interact with non-technical stakeholders to deliver analyses and answer questions on deliverables.
• Execute on data science strategy using inferential or predictive models.
• Coordinate with Business partners in a consultant capacity, data collection, prioritization, training and support.
• Coordinate with technology partners on data mining and collection using SQL, R, Python, Excel, Microstrategy, and other tools.
• Prepare and deliver analyses and data visualizations meeting customer needs.
• Desire to learn and apply new data science techniques to solve business problems.
• Experience with analytics consulting and delivering analytics to Executives/C‑Suite stakeholders is desired.
