Responsibilities

1. Develop advanced machine learning algorithms to extract more value from our data and benefit our customers.
2. Refine and adapt our proprietary algorithms for different customer scenarios and our strategic goals.
3. Identify and validate new data sources, such as the US Census Bureau, to expand our core data assets.
4. Clean and prepare customer data using tools like PySpark, R, Python, or Excel for analysis and modeling.
5. Perform descriptive and statistical analyses to find valuable patterns that inform customer decisions.
6. Create presentations and materials to demonstrate insights and educate customers on our findings.
7. Present results and models to customers as a technical expert and industry insider.

Skills and Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Statistics, Mathematics, or Computer Science, with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
2. Experience working with large datasets and developing models for real customer problems; insurance data experience is a plus.
3. Deep knowledge of statistical modeling, including parameter tuning and model evaluation.
4. Proficiency in Python or R, familiarity with PySpark and Excel.
5. Critical thinking, independence, and logical reasoning skills.
6. Creativity, open-mindedness, and a positive attitude towards challenges.
7. Ability to conduct independent research and pursue progress beyond trivial solutions.
8. Attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership.
9. Effective communication skills to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
